There is no record of former President Donald Trump authorizing or requesting thousands of National Guard troops for the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

Miller said he told Trump the plan was to provide National Guard support as requested by the District of Columbia. When asked by the committee whether he would have known if troops were to be present or called up for a rally near the Capitol, Kellogg said:"Yeah, I would have." Campbell, president and CEO of the U.S. Capitol Historical Society, a nonprofit and nonpartisan educational organization.
