All entertainment activity has been suspended at the venue
A Merseyside amusement park will close for two weeks following the death of Monarch Queen Elizabeth II.
It was confirmed by Buckingham Palace yesterday that the Queen had died and Balmoral Castle surrounded by her family. In her honour, the popular tourist attraction Southport Pleasureland will close its doors to mark the passing of Britain's longest-reigning monarch. CEO Norman Wallis has decided to suspend all entertainment activity as the country enters an official period of mourning. The Queen visited Southport on a number of occasions during her reign including a visit to Altcar Training Camp in 1985.A spokesperson for Southport Pleasureland said: "Southport Pleasureland will remain closed for the next two weekends as a mark of respect following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II yesterday .
