You'll have to dedicate some time in your calendar if you want to grab yourself a free drink this afternoon
A popular coffee shop in the city centre is handing out free matcha drinks this afternoon to help people in Manchester kick off the Bank Holiday weekend in style.
With that in mind, the coffee shop, which is loved by a bunch of famous faces including Molly-Mae, has created an online tool where people can add a ‘matcha moment’ meeting to their calendar - and bag themselves a free drink in the process. By using the tool, which can then be added to Outlook, Google or Apple calendars, and showing the ‘matcha moment’ calendar entry to baristas at the new King Street shop this afternoon between 3pm and 4pm, customers can get an iced matcha latte on the house.
The coffee shop, which started life in Brooklyn, has a wide matcha menu which it hopes will encourage people to take a much-needed productivity break during the day. A spokesperson said: “Matcha allows a slow release of caffeine, meaning it is the perfect drink to keep energy levels up deskside throughout the afternoon, so workers can smash the do-to list, right through to 5pm.
