The ground floor and basement of the pub will be transformed into offices for two healthcare businesses. The proposal is seen as a positive redevelopment opportunity that will not harm the site's character or the city centre's vitality and viability. The pub, which currently employs 16 staff, has function rooms including a Peaky Blinders themed bar.

Plans put forward by PKL Investments Limited have been approved by Nottingham City Council despite regulars arguing the thriving business should be saved. The ground floor and basement of the pub, in Friar Lane, will be turned into offices for two businesses in the healthcare sector .
A planning letter said the proposal would represent "a positive redevelopment opportunity, contributing to a more diversified city centre use in Nottingham city. The proposals would not result in the character of the site being harmed and the vitality and viability of the centre would be maintained." The pub, which has two function rooms upstairs including a Peaky Blinders themed bar, currently employs 16 staff. General manager Jordan Spencer said: "Obviously it's a crushing blow for the business owners and for the staff. At the end of the day it's not as if we are short of unoccupied office space in Nottingham.
