RECALL: Customers are being warned NOT to drink the tea, which is sold in most major supermarkets. 9News

said some batches of Nerada Organics Lemon & Ginger Organic Herbal Infusion Tea was found to have ethylene oxide contamination inside its tea bags.Nerada Tea has announced an urgent recall of anyone who has purchased this tea product.

Nerada Tea Pty Ltd said it is conduct the recall because the product can potentially cause illness or injury from drinking it.Anyone who purchased the tea should not drink it but return it for a full refund.Woolworths customers in NSW, the ACT and Queensland have also been warned. ALDI has recalled its version of the tea, sold as Diplomat Lemon & Ginger Herbal Infusion in its stores.

The product was sold at Coles stores in NSW, ACT and Victoria, while IGA shoppers in NSW, ACT, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia have also been warned after it was sold. The Coles, Woolworths and IGA recall applies to best before dates displayed from 08/01/23 up to and including 22/01/23.The Aldi recall relates to products with best before dates from 08/02/2023 up to and including 11/02/2023.
