Port Adelaide has provided little new information to the AFL regarding Ken Hinkley's verbal tirade towards Hawthorn players, leaving the league to decide on potential sanctions. Hinkley apologized multiple times for his actions but has not revealed all that was said.
The AFL ’s ‘please explain’ is at risk of falling apart after Port Adelaide said they had little more to add about Ken Hinkley ’s verbal tirade towards Hawthorn players on Friday night. Hinkley taunted Jack Ginnivan and then went toe-to-toe with Hawks captain James Sicily after Port’s narrow escape in the thrilling semi-final at Adelaide Oval.
“This is your club representative, the man who is the icon of your club at this time making those comments. It is a poor representation. He is a wonderful fella, but he deserved to do better in the moment.” Hinkley’s initial attack was directed at Ginnivan just minutes after Sicily hit the post from a set shot that would have put Hawthorn on the brink of victory with less than a minute left.
