Logan will get a new sports venue that could host events for the Brisbane Olympics and Paralympics in 2032. Logan Indoor Sports Centre will be built in the city’s centre and will be designed to host sports including basketball, netball, volleyball, futsal, handball, wheelchair rugby, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, badminton, fencing, table tennis, and taekwondo, according to designers. The venue, south of Brisbane , will be able to accommodate about 7000 spectators.

Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers, whose electorate Rankin encompasses the land designated for the centre, described the development as an “asset for our local community”. Logan Mayor Jon Raven welcomed the prospect of the city hosting events for Brisbane 2032. “The chance to potentially host Olympic and Paralympic events and training in the City of Logan will put us on the world stage to show off the beauty, culture and talent of this great city,” he said.
