New Zealand officially has a new Prime Minister, with Chris Hipkins sworn in to replace Jacinda Ardern as he said he was 'energised and excited by the challenges that lie ahead'.
Mr Hipkins was sworn in as the country's 41st Prime Minister by Governor-General Dame Cindy Kiro at Government House in Wellington on Wednesday.
"I am energised and excited by the challenges that lie ahead," the 44-year-old, who is nicknamed"Chippy", said at the swearing-in ceremony.
