Nurse Lydia Joyce was two days away from starting a new job when she had her second miscarriage.
When it comes to disclosing pregnancy, Indeed’s survey found that only 33 percent of people would reveal in a job interview that they were pregnant and a further 24 percent said they would never disclose. Ms Joyce believes that we need to have more transparent conversations about pregnancy and miscarriage in the workplace.
“It’s a chance for young people to learn about themselves and learn about work,” Ms McNeillage-Greene says. “It gives someone and opportunity to work, and more importantly, make mistakes in an environment where there are opportunities”, Ms McNeillage-Greene says.
