A pregnant woman from Missouri said she learned that her new home was previously used as a meth lab after she tested positive for the drug during a prenatal appointment.
She was told that none of the medications she was taking could have caused a false positive, and after having a few conversations with neighbors, she decided to purchase a kit to test her home in June. "We had a company come and fully test the home for meth and the lab results were even worse than we thought," Hessel said.
Police who arrived at the home in 2013 found powder that contained a small amount of meth and cold pills that could be used to make meth, according to Grant Bissell, Public Safety Information Coordinator for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. "It looked kind of suspicious, maybe, but there was nothing there per that ordinance to say that our guys would’ve need swab those walls," he said.
