“It’s extremely traumatic for them – these women need support and trying to relocate to a town where they perhaps don’t have any family or friends – is extremely difficult for them,” Ms Staines told Sky News host Amanda Stoker. “They are absolutely displaced for their births – the financial pressure, the emotional stress is absolutely huge and we’re now in the hundreds of births that have happened under these circumstances.”
