Collingwood captain Darcy Moore has his hand in a cast to protect a tendon problem he managed through the qualifying final win over Melbourne last week.
The All-Australian key defender, and Collingwood’s most important player, consulted specialists at Epworth Hospital on Tuesday and had his hand put in a cast.
The injury will not stop Moore from playing in the preliminary final, but with a week off this week he is likely to have a light week on the training track. Moore missed the last two rounds of the home and away season – the loss at Marvel Stadium to Brisbane by 24 points and the 70-point win over Essendon – with a hamstring injury.

Bill Shorten weighs in on ‘reputation’ of Brayden Maynard ahead of tribunal caseNDIS Minister Bill Shorten has weighed in on the hit which saw Collingwood’s Brayden Maynard collide with Melbourne’s Angus Brayshaw during an attempted smother while he also referenced the Magpie defender's reputation. Mr Shorten expressed his condolences to the concussed Angus Brayshaw but stood firmly on Brayden Maynard’s reputation of “being a fair player”. “I genuinely thought, the guy is propelling himself through the air, he can’t just go from fifth gear and slam on the brakes,” he told Sky News Australia. “I feel for Angus Brayshaw, that’s obviously very bad to have that injury, but the fellow in question seems to have a pretty good reputation around the place of being a fair player. “You got me commenting on the issue … politicians should stay out of it, we will leave it for the tribunal, but go Pies.”
