Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has revealed she suffered a “medical episode” earlier this year but has insisted it will not deter her from contesting the next election.
While in Italy on holiday last month, Ms Palaszczuk was grilled by media and faced intense questions about her future amid leadership rumblings back in Queensland.On Monday, Ms Palaszczuk called a press conference now back from leave where she categorically ruled out stepping down as Premier.
While taking questions, she said that she was rushed to the emergency room at the Mackay Hospital in June. In a statement on social media after she was tracked down by the press, Ms Palaszczuk said she was “entitled to leave”.“Steven Miles is Acting Premier. I return on September 11.”
