A grazier from drought-ravaged NSW is preparing to swim the English Channel by training in one of the last bodies of water in the far west of the state.
Brendan Cullen, a grazier from drought-ravaged New South Wales, is 12 hours from the state's coast. But that is not stopping him training for one of the toughest ocean swims in the world — crossing the English Channel.
To cross the gruelling, 30-kilometre channel between England and France, swimmers spend at least 10 hours in 16 degree Celsius water. He will have to dodge logs,"Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I'd be attempting to swim the length of the channel," Mr Cullen said.Mr Cullen is also a Lifeline ambassador, helping graziers to open up about their mental health.
