President Niinistö told lawmakers that both Finland and Washington are forerunners in fighting climate change.
March 06, 2023 at 6:04 pm PSTGov. Jay Inslee on Monday welcomed a foreign of head of state, President Sauli Niinistö of Finland, to the state capitol to address a joint session of the legislature.
“Sustainability should not be seen as a sacrifice but an opportunity. Combatting climate change is absolutely crucial for the survival of our planet but it also makes economic sense,” Niinistö said. “Finland is really leading in development of technology to fight climate change,” Inslee said Monday.It comes at a time both Finland and Sweden are petitioning to join NATO.
