In a statement from partner Andre Portasio, it was confirmed that the TV star had died "unexpectedly but peacefully" on Tuesday evening . Ever since, tributes have poured in for the Birkenhead-born star, who has left a legacy behind in the wake of his death.

He then appeared on BBC Breakfast the following morning to pay tribute, the Mirror reports.
