An event to bring people together to talk about mental health was held on the Flag Market by Preston Wellfest last week 🤗
The event gave the public the opportunity to learn about the services and community organisations that exist in Preston to support mental health.
A total of 14 organisations had stands at the event and many spoke about the work of their organisations including Lancashire Mind, The Mary O’Gara Foundation, Andy’s Man Club, Release CIC, Let’s Grow Preston, Red Rose Recovery and Disability Equality North West. There were also a number of live performances for residents to enjoy while at the event by local DJs, Preston People’s Choir, Worldwise Samba Drummers and a special performance by community dance organisation Lemondance.
Lancashire County Councillor Michael Green, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, attended the event and said: “Preston Wellfest has been an excellent event which has helped bring the people of Preston together to discuss mental health. “I hope that the event has helped those who attended, giving them the chance to discuss their mental health and wellbeing in an open environment, and hope that World Mental Health Day will encourage people across Lancashire to do the same.”
