Preston North End have made six changes for their pre-season fixture at Deepdale against Hearts.
It is the first start of the summer for McCann, who has been made to make do with substitute appearances so far after arriving back late following international duty.
Riis and Evans are once again partnered up front, with the latter getting his second start of the summer. Whiteman captains the side, with skipper Alan Browne back on the bench having, like McCann, joined up with the squad late. There is no place on the bench for youngster Dana Amaral, who has featured regularly so far, and right back Matthew Olosunde.
PNE Starting XI: Woodman, Storey, Lindsay, Hughes, Potts, Whiteman, McCann, Woodburn, Brady, Riis, Evans.
