A volunteer firefighter has captured what's it's like driving through a bushfire at night as he and a colleague moved through the Bunyip state park

Incredible footage captured at night by a CFA volunteer of a massive blaze in a Gippsland state forest has been posted on a CFA Facebook page.

On Saturday night he drove through the aftermath of the Bunyip State Park bushfire and captured the footage.after a sweltering 24-hour shift, he said his strike team had been called at midnight to protect a home and sheds at risk of fire.Loading He said while he was now on a day long break from the fire, his thoughts remained with the 850 other firefighters still out there.

At least three homes were destroyed by the 10,000 hectare Bunyip fire on Sunday, including one at Tonimbuk that exploded as it was engulfed in flames.
