The “irony” around claiming the Voice will “have a dramatic impact” on the Northern Territory crime crisis is that a territory “effectively gets one vote” in a referendum where states get “two votes”, says Alice Springs Mayor Matt Paterson.
“We still only half count in a referendum for something that’s going to change our constitution and something that people are saying
is going to have a dramatic impact on us,” he told Sky News Australia.“I understand that we’re a territory but it’s pretty ironic to me.”
