|Multiple ethical questions have been raised by the development and distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine in mainland China according to The Australian’s Political Reporter Richard Ferguson. Hundreds of thousands of people in China have reportedly been given a COVID-19 vaccine before the treatment went through the full regulatory approval process.
Mr Ferguson said “is it unethical? Absolutely”. He pointed out vaccines must go through strenuous testing because a "vaccine with bad side effects can be even worse than the virus”. Mr Ferguson told Sky News, if the vaccine proves to be a success, “it’s pretty unethical" for hundreds of thousands of people to be receiving the potentially lifesaving treatment in China while the rest of the globe is left helpless.
