The Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide interim report released today said the Morrison government’s lack of action was a dereliction of their duty toward veterans.
RSL National President Greg Melick says he disagrees with this and the previous government “reacted positively to all of our major recommendations”.
“Except, of course, the major one we’re still trying to get through which is the demand-driven funding,” he told Sky News Australia. “You’ve got to bear in mind the previous government allocated about 280 million additional dollars in relation to remove public service caps … and to increase the payments to mental health professionals.”
