The price of the weekly shop has skyrocketed over the last 12 months for people
The cost-of-living crisis continues to hit most households across the UK. While many things have increased in price, the cost of the weekly shop is one the things which has been most seriously affected.
Swapped out branded products for cheaper alternatives Some major supermarkets have smaller convenience stores dotted about the country and this includes Tesco. These are a lot smaller and sell a much more condensed amount of products compared to the bigger sites. One criticism of these stores was that they rarely stocked the supermarket's own-brand or discount products. Instead, they mainly stocked more expensive branded options.
To help customers find these items, Tesco revamped its signage across 300 stores to highlight where these items are. The signage says "reduced in price, just as nice" and the supermarket chain says it is discussing rolling it out further across its estate.
