A New Jersey couple was on their honeymoon when they found out their pride flags were vandalized on their front lawn.

“I think he was known to law enforcement,” Ferrazzano said. “They haven’t charged him, or released any names. But they did tell us he was arrested.”

In addition to a damaged cable wire, Ferrazzano said the flagpole needs to be replaced before a new flag is put up.This flag was vandalized on the Bloomfield Township home owned by Kara Ferrazzano and her wife, Natalie Ferrazzano, on Feb. 21, 2022. Ferrazzano was pleasantly surprised by the reaction on social media, receiving what she called “overwhelming support” from her neighbors.

“Obviously we didn’t ask for any of this,” she said. “But I felt really good about the outpouring from the community. I guess the lesson I learned is that we were right to move here. I know that sounds weird, but we feel like the community does have our back and is standing with us. Despite this horrible situation we really do feel the love, and that’s been a really beautiful thing to see.
