Scott Morrison has downplayed the importance of a snap National Cabinet meeting he called for Tuesday night despite the next scheduled meeting not coming until February next year.
Scott Morrison and the state and territory leaders were not scheduled to meet until next year but they were informed late last night of tomorrow’s meeting.
“The purpose of it was just simply to give everybody an update on the most recent information that we have and to share the information that the states and territories have,” Mr Morrison said on Monday. On Sunday the Federal Health Minister confirmed Australia would not follow nations in Europe who were reintroducing restrictions.
“We have one of the highest vaccination rates in the world and a very different set of circumstances,” Minister Hunt said.
