Prime Minister weighs up Christensen sanction after rebuking podcast | CameronAtfield
The LNP member for Dawson, who sits in the Nationals party room as part of the federal Coalition, hasScott Morrison, pictured in Canberra on Wednesday, says he is discussing George Christensen’s future with Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce.Mr Christensen chairs the Joint Standing Committee on Trade and Investment Growth, a position that nets him an additional $23,237.50 a year on top of his $211,250 base salary as a backbench MP.
Speaking in Brisbane on Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce was pressed on those discussions.“I have been in discussions this morning with the Prime Minister about those issues. “I think they’re dangerous views. I don’t think parents should be listening to them — that’s certainly the medical advice I have from the Chief Medical Officer and that’s consistent with advice you get anywhere in the world.
