Prince Andrew is again embroiled in controversy following revelations that a close associate who attended his 60th birthday party has been exposed as an alleged Chinese spy.

In a statement, Prince Andrew's office said of the association:"The Duke of York followed advice from His Majesty's Government and ceased all contact with the individual after concerns were raised." "That occurred in a context where, as the contemporaneous documents record, the duke was under considerable pressure and could be expected to value the applicant’s loyal support.
His ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein led to his removal as a working royal in 2019, a decision made by his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth.
