Prince Andrew, facing eviction from Royal Lodge by his brother King Charles, may seek refuge in an opulent palace in Abu Dhabi offered to him and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. A royal biographer claims Andrew is deeply connected to Abu Dhabi and the palace offer could alleviate his financial woes following the suspension of his royal allowance.
King Charles ' push to evict Prince Andrew may force him into Middle East palace exile amid claims the Duke is 'up to his neck' in Abu Dhabi ties. Prince Andrew may flee to live it up in an Abu Dhabi palace with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson as the embattled Duke's family woes show no sign of letting up, writes Nigel Jones.
A well-informed Royal biographer claims that Prince Andrew - the younger brother of King Charles disgraced by his links to a Chinese spy and the late sex trafficker and paedophile Jeffrey Epstein - is going into exile in the Middle East. Andrew Lownie, who is writing a biography of the Prince - says that the 64- year- old favourite son of Queen Elizabeth is “up to his neck” in ties with Abu Dhabi, and has been offered the rent free use of an opulent palace in the Gulf Emirate for himself, his ex-wife Sarah, and their two daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. If Mr Lownie’s claim is correct and he takes up the offer, at least one of Andrew’s problems will be solved - a prospect of imminent homelessness caused by his brother King Charles’s efforts to evict him from Royal Lodge - the mansion near Windsor Castle where Andrew and Sarah currently live in splendour. Andrew has resisted all Charles’ efforts to get him out - which culminated this year in the King reportedly cutting off his brother’s annual £1 million allowance ($2 million AUD). The sources of Andrew’s income have been a mystery since he was removed from his paid royal duties because of his friendship with Epstein, but if Lownie’s claims are correct, cash from the oil rich gulf state may make up for his financial shortfall. The Prince and his ex-wife the Duchess of York spent a lonely festive season at the Lodge after they were dropped from the traditional Christmas gathering of the Royals at their country home Sandringham in Norfolk, and he was also absent from the Christmas party thrown by King Charles at Buckingham Palace for his family and closest friend
