Those behind a Tinder swindle scam who conned a NZ woman out of half a million dollars appear to have been targeting women around the world using the same methods.

It did not take long for Ritterman to move the chat off the site and ask for her email and phone number. She agreed to give him her email. It took only two messages for her to become suspicious. The Tinder swindlers used several photos of this man, who they said was Dale Plumides. It is not known whose photo the real scammers used.

Then, in December, the woman matched with someone named Alan Caston. He, too, asked for her email address. When he sent her his bio, alarm bells started ringing.
