Prince George reportedly persuaded King Charles to part ways with an ancient coronation tradition over fears he would become the target of schoolyard bullies.

The nine-year-old, who was one of the King’s nine pages, expressed concern about becoming the “subject of ribaldry” at his private co-educational school in Berkshire for wearing the knee-length garments popular in the 18th century, a royal courtier told“He also wasn't keen on wearing tights and becoming a subject of ribaldry at school,” the courtier told the publication.
