Prince George reportedly persuaded King Charles to part ways with an ancient coronation tradition over fears he would become the target of schoolyard bullies.
The nine-year-old, who was one of the King’s nine pages, expressed concern about becoming the “subject of ribaldry” at his private co-educational school in Berkshire for wearing the knee-length garments popular in the 18th century, a royal courtier told“He also wasn't keen on wearing tights and becoming a subject of ribaldry at school,” the courtier told the publication.
George's key role in the coronation made make him the youngest future king to partake in a coronation. The youngsters were were seated in a royal box between Kate and William, while the couple's youngest son Prince Louis remained at home given the concert's late finish. In an adorable video posted to social media, the young royals were captured dancing along to British pop group Take That, while waving their British flags.
