The Duke of Sussex became emotional over what he described as “industrial scale” phone hacking and admitted he would feel “injustice” if the court found his claims untrue.
The Duke of Sussex wrapped up two days of cross-examination on Wednesday over accusations The Mirror, Daily Mirror and the Sunday Mirror's journalists intercepted his phone and voicemails and, on occasion, paid a private investigator for stories about him.
King Charles’ youngest son was questioned on his relationship with former long-term girlfriend Chelsy Davy and alleged he found a tracking device on her car. The Prince alleged the invoice proved the investigator passed on information that Ms Davy had ended their seven-year relationship for a story titled “Hooray Harry Dumped”.“The fact that these payments were referred to as 'Project Harry' is incredibly disturbing.”
Only one of the claims made it to court for a trial which led to an award of £1.2 million in compensation in 2015. Prince Harry leaves court as the first royal since 1891 to be cross-examined. Picture: Carl Court/Getty Images

Barristers gave Prince Harry an ‘absolute kicking’ in courtGB News host Patrick Christys says Barristers gave Prince Harry an “absolute kicking” by stating many of the articles the Prince is complaining about used information already available in the public domain. “Barristers gave him an absolute kicking they spanked him on three key points … he didn’t actually read many of the articles which he’s complained about at the time of publication,” Mr Christys told Sky News host Sharri Markson. “That means that could not have caused him personal distress they also argued much of the information was already in the public domain … it had been published by other news outlets before the Mirror. “Therefore, how can he prove they obtained that information through phone hacking.”
