Princess Mary dazzled in a show-stopping glittery gown at Queen Margrethe's annual New Year's Banquet at Christian VII's Palace after her whirlwind trip home to Australia for Christmas.

The Tasmanian-born Princess was joined by her husband Crown Prince Frederik at the ball, which is reserved for the government officials, top civil servants and the Danish royal family.
