The Western Australian-based synth metal band will rock the Eurovision stage on Friday morning in hopes of landing one of 10 coveted spots available in the second semi-final.

Western Australia-based group Voyager will represent Australia in the second semi-final of the competition on Friday morning in the British city of Liverpool.

A total of 16 countries will perform on Friday, with only 10 advancing through to Saturday's final by the audiences' vote. "It started with the hashtag Voyager for Eurovision in 2015 when Australia was announced to be part of the contest," he told Sky News Australia. "People around the world have told us – when we’re touring, we’ve got seven albums out and done a whole bunch of world tours – you guys would be great on Eurovision and we looked at ourselves and went, 'Yes'," he said.

"We do feel like we deserve to be on this stage and we feel capable, ready and willing to do our best, represent our country and our music genre." We have competed ever since 2015, with X-Factor winner Dami Im almost winning the event back in 2016 coming in second place to Ukraine.The first semi-final happened on Wednesday, with 10 countries advancing to the final.
