Concerns raised by a major NSW property developer were the only stakeholder correspondence Planning Minister Rob Stokes received from Deputy Premier John Barilaro about a contested policy aimed at preserving koala habitat.
Deputy Premier John Barilaro passed on the concerns of a major property developer to Planning Minister Rob Stokes.Mr Stokes' office was forwarded Mr McCloy's letter from Mr Barilaro's office on September 8. Mr McCloy's letter, which was also sent to Liberal upper house MP Catherine Cusack, says his development company was "deeply concerned" about the policy.
"The new koala SEPP can have a significant negative effect on farmers, natural resource industries and the developers of residential, commercial and industrial land by increasing the cost to manage, operate and/or develop land holdings," the letter, dated September 8, says.
