The charges laid against Blockade Australia protester Mali Cooper were dropped on the grounds she was suffering from climate “anxiety”.
The charges laid against Ms Cooper were dropped in Lismore Court on Tuesday after her barrister provided “medical evidence to the court” showing she had “developed anxiety from her concerns about climate change”, according to The Daily Telegraph.
“In June, Mali Cooper made tens of thousands of Sydney-siders late for work, because she parked her car at the entrance to the Harbour Tunnel and locked herself to the steering wheel,” Ms Credlin said. “But that was okay, said a Lismore magistrate, because as well as climate anxiety, she had PTSD because of the Lismore floods.”
