Supporters of Brazil's former far-right president Jair Bolsonaro invade the Supreme Court, the National Congress building and surround the presidential palace in the country's capital, Brasilia.
Mr Bolsonaro left Brazil for Florida 48 hours before the end of his mandate.
Images on TV channel Globo News show protesters roaming the presidential palace, many of them wearing green and yellow, the colours of the flag that have also come to symbolise the Bolsonaro government. However, in this case, it is likely that National Congress and the Supreme Court had limited personnel inside the buildings on a Sunday.
"The government of the Federal District has ensured there will be reinforcements. And the forces at our disposal are at work."
