How cute is this pooch
A senior Labrador has rescued 15 orphaned ducklings after their mother mysteriously disappeared one night while on her nest., Essex, are hoping that the mummy duck will return very soon, but in the meantime Fred the Labrador has stepped in to take care of them.This isn't the first time Fred has taken on the heroic role of both mum and dad to little quackers, after he adopted another brood of orphaned ducklings five years ago.
Even at the magnificent age of 15, Fred still has the same wonderful nurturing spirit, this time though he has had a little help from members of staff at the Norman Village and Castle.Jeremy Goldsmith who is the owner of both Fred and Mountfitchet Castle is not surprised by his four-legged friend's loving nature.
Having lived at the Castle for 15 years, Fred has spent a lot of time with the animals that roam free in the grounds, and it has become second nature to him to befriend them.
