Brits broadly believe the Government is striking the right balance by bearing down on inflation over cutting taxes, new polling reveals RichardVaughan1 reports

Respondents did not believe that inflation should be brought down at their own expense, however, as just 17 per cent showed any support for raising income tax to reduce inflation, as compared with 48 per cent opposing the move.latest Bank of England interest rate rise Overall, people believed their taxes were too high with 46 per cent saying they were paying too much to the exchequer, just 8 per cent believed they were paying too little.
Despite this, two-thirds of those questioned – 66 per cent – said the Government was spending too little on the NHS, 53 per cent said not enough was being spent on education and 52 per cent said spending was too low dealing with crime.
