A Gold Coast teenager who found a unique corn chip in her packet of Doritos has attracted bids of more than $20,000 on eBay for one reason.
Coomera teenager Rylee Stuart, 13, documented her discovery of the quirky Doritos chip on her TikTok account, with the original video racking up 2.9m views.
Rylee decided to list the inflated chip for $0.99, not realising how much attention it would attract.The chip itself is inflated across all three points and was discovered completely intact in the packet.Within days, bidding for the chip had exploded to $20,000. In subsequent videos she expressed her shock at seeing the figure go up from her original listing price.The eBay listing has rocketed to bids of $20,3000 as of Thursday.Rylee told Nine News said she “screamed” when she saw bids of $10,000 popping up on the listing.
“Dad is saying that since he bought the packet its his chip, but I ate the packet and found it so I believe it is mine,” she joked.Rylee said she was shocked to see how big the bids for the chip had become., eBay users tried to cash in on plastic straws from McDonalds after the item was discontinued in Australia., an Australian-based eBay user listed the word ‘The’, written on a scrap of paper, on eBay with bids reaching more than $40,000.
