NSW Premier Chris Minns banned full-day retail trade on the national day of remembrance, with the exemption of 'essential' service providers including hotels and clubs.
A bill has been introduced to restrict gaming machines on Anzac Day , after hotels and clubs were exempted from retail trading on the date.The amendment to the retail trading legislation will be put to the floor of parliament.
In a proposed amendment to retail trading legislation last week, Mr Greenwich called for restrictions on gaming machines in drinking establishments on April 25 with the exception of two-up, which is played three times a year in NSW.The MP said he had the support of the crossbench, including the Greens, and said the opposition was "seriously considering" his position.
"People do gamble on Anzac Day, that has been part of the tradition for a long period of time," Mr Minns said.
