“I think a lot of guys that have success in certain markets, once you’re done playing, you’re a relic of the past. In Philadelphia, more than most cities, man, they cherish the guys that play there and really love the guys that represented what the Philadelphia mindset is.” With the Eagles on the verge of just the third championship for Philadelphia in the four major sports the past three decades, it’s a natural time to reflect on how championships shape legacies. Even with thousands of athletes passing through the city, three of the four faces on Philly’s “Mount Rushmore” are hard to debate.to their most recent championship in 1983.
