The Kremlin has put its troops on high alert, sending them into Moscow's streets after Wagner's mercenary chief called for an armed mutiny to be punished for allegedly killing his fighters.

In a sensational series of published audio clips, he vowed to punish those responsible for the deaths and urged people to join a"march" to"end this mess".
