Former PwC Australia general counsel Meredith Beattie says Kevin Burrowes should have told partners about his $1.2 million bonus from PwC global. Beattie believes transparency would have built trust and confidence within the firm.
PwC Australia chief executive Kevin Burrowes should “very much regret” not telling partners he was getting paid an extra $1.2 million by PwC global, former general counsel Meredith Beattie says. “I think if I were Mr Burrowes, I would very much regret that I hadn’t shared with my Australia n firm partners what was occurring,” she said in response to questions from Labor senator and committee chairman Deborah O’Neill.
” Burrowes has defended his year-long delay in telling his chief ethics officer and the firm’s partners he was being paid an additional $1.2 million by PwC International on top of his $2.8 million pay from PwC Australia before bonuses. The additional $1.2 million in pay covers Burrowes acting on behalf of the PwC network to reform the Australian firm.
