, for profit, information former partner Peter Collins had gleaned while advising the government on developing the multinational tax avoidance laws. Analysis conducted by the Audit Office of NSW, based on agency annual report disclosures, found that spending on consultants between 2017–18 and 2021–22 was concentrated across the big four professional services firms which accounted for about 27 per cent of total consultancy spending across state agencies.The NSW Auditor-General, Margaret Crawford, has previously criticised the state government for being ineffective in the way consultants are hired and managed.
