Former PwC general counsel Meredith Beattie says Former CEO Luke Sayers was “aware that there would have to be some steps taken in relation to Mr Seymour” over what was happening in the tax practice under his leadership earlier on Friday. Beattie says she raised issues about Seymour and the tax practice’s approach to legal professional privilege and the culture of the Sayers, the governance board and the executive board.
” She added: “Sayers was aware that there would have to be some steps taken in relation to Mr Seymour, but his immediate concern was fix what is occurring.” Beattie could not identify what the board was doing about the matter but she was not asked to resolve the matter herself. “There were no requests of me to take any steps in relation to them, which is not to say that steps couldn’t be taken. I continued to raise it as an issue.
