Q: As an audience engagement producer what are some trends that you’ve noticed as far as what’s important to Houstonians?As an audience engagement producer, I’ve come to learn that Houstonians take their food mainstays seriously, from Whataburger, to Buc-ee’s, H-E-B, Pappa’s Restaurants and the entire culture of barbecue and Cajun cuisine. Houstonians will also tune in for information about Beyoncé, Mattress Mack, Tilman Fertitta, Bun B, DJ Screw, Dr. Peter Hotez, Sen.
Q: You’ve lived on the East Coast , in the semi-desert of Phoenix and the humid swamps of Houston. What did you take away from each of these places? Is there a common thread?I learned the hard way that not all state infrastructures are created equally. On the East Coast, beginning with Virginia and going north, states are far more equipped for severe winter weather — from pre-treating highways, to deploying fleets of salt trucks and snow plows and having ample sewage systems.
