Despite promises to make it easier for customers to modify flights, Qantas has increased the fees it charges for ticket changes by 20%. Bookings made from October 9th will see a rise in the price to $119 to change names, travel dates, or cancel domestic economy and premium economy tickets, up from $99.

The company has said it will improve the customer experience, but is now charging more to change travel arrangements.When she started as the airline’s chief executive last September, Vanessa Hudson pledged to “restore the balance” for customers by addressing some ofA spokesman said it was the first time these fees have increased since 2017 and “the increase is below the rate of inflation over this period”.
A spokesman said no decision on whether to proceed with that change had been made and work to assess the benefits of potentially doing so was still under way.particularly for wages, after having stripped $1 billion in costs out of its business during the COVID-19 pandemic. At its full-year results last month, the airline said it would pay $60 million more to flight attendants as part of a deal struck to better align with Labor’s industrial relations overhaul legislation.
