Qantas CEO Alan Joyce says “there is a lot of work happening in Qantas” to prepare for new aircraft.
Mr Joyce spoke at a media conference on Thursday morning, after Qantas announced a $1.9 billion underlying loss for the 2022 financial year.
“Just last month, the first of the group’s next generation narrow body aircraft arrived in Jetstar,” he said. “That is the start of a ten-year fleet renewal program, that will also see Qantas update its 717s and 737 fleets, with the Airbus A220 and A321.Mr Joyce said the business’ focus since the beginning of the pandemic has been on restructuring.
