Gender Clinic News’ Bernard Lane says “the feelings of a minority are being given priority over biological reality” with Queensland outlining proposed changes to birth certificates.

Under the changes, people would be allowed to switch their gender every 12 months, while the terms ‘mother’ and ‘father’ would become optional on birth certificates. Mr Lane said the concept of being able to change one’s gender every 12 months is a “puzzle” as we’re told “people have this immutable, inner gender identity that is at odds with their biological sex”.

“And on the other hand we’re told that that gender marker can be changed once a year,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
