Human trials are set to begin today for a COVID-19 vaccine developed by the University of Queensland.
The majority of 120 volunteers will reportedly receive two doses of the vaccine with the rest receiving a placebo.
The volunteers will be monitored for the next year and if successful the trial could be extended to thousands of Queensland residents and then made available as early as next year. The Palaszczuk government contributed $10 million toward the trial with $5 million from the federal government. Image: AP
